The Union Building, Anderson Indiana

by Mike Farr
(Anderson, IN USA)

The Union Building used to have a medical ward on the 4th Floor many years ago. Today it is used as offices. People have seen a nurse walking down the halls, heard footsteps and also moaning on that floor. Occasionally, in the southeast corner of the 4th floor you can also hear a sort of tuneless whistling.

Actually, room 420/421 was a "birthing" center. Nurses were on duty 24/7. Women gave birth and went home the next day.

I was born in that medical ward in 1943. It was then called the Citizens Nursing Center, and the building was named the Citizens Bank Building.
