My friend had a sleep over there from 3-29-13 to 3-30-13 and my friends had a ghost detector and we were walking on the 3rd floor and a red dot appeared on the radar and the red dot was getting closer to us but we just stood there and we heard this strange static/deep noise all around us and the radar was picking up what the ghost was saying and the ghost said "coming kids throughout managed..." but after the ghost said managed we ran down the stares to our room on the 2nd floor it creeped us out so much cause out of the 8 girls that were there me and my friend were the only ones that were there and heard it speaking to us and trying to communicate.

Staying in Room 302 and have had an interesting 24 hours. I have a very hard time sleeping with lights on so naturally when going to bed I close the curtains and turn off all the lights. Last night after my shower I get dressed and open the bathroom door, then open the closet door directly across and get my socks out, I turn off the light and close the door. I then go and put my socks on, unravel the curtains from their rope on the side of the window and close the curtains. About 3 am I wake up out of a dead sleep (don’t know what made me wake up) but I try to go back to sleep and am having a hard time, I open my eyes and see the closet light is back on again… fast forward to the morning, I go to work and come back to the hotel about 3 PM. I lay down on the bed DIRECTLY next to the window for about an hour and a half, go out to get food, come back to the and get a drink from the bar downstairs. 2 mins later I get a call I left my card in the lounge to come get it, I go down to get my card and come back to my room within 3-5 minutes and my room is cold. I think maybe my body is cooling down end of the day whatever, 10 minutes later my buddy comes in the room and he’s like wtf why is the window wide open? I turn around and the curtains are just BLOWING HARD in the wind……. The window had been closed and locked for 2 days…. The window was closed and locked with me in the room, nobody was in the room with me- and suddenly the window is wide open on the 3rd floor with no explanation…..LOCKED window, opens itself, lights turning themselves on. Really cool historical building. Funny stuff going on.

We stayed on the first floor last week, and were unaware of any ghost stories there at the time. We did find those portraits on the walls in the main lobby area to be a bit creepy.

I was awakened about 2:30am from the sound of loud tapping footsteps, as on a wood floor, which lasted a long time, but being groggy I just dismissed it as someone in the rooms above us, and went back to sleep. In the morning I mentioned it to my wife who reminded me that the floors were all carpeted. After we left, the next day I looked it up and discovered the stories about it being haunted.

I stayed in the Eureka Inn with my family in July 2016. When we first got it into the hotel it was already quite eerie but nothing too crazy going on. Then we went to bed. I stayed in a room with my sibling and in the middle of the night I had a dream that a tall butler type figure was standing in the hall to the rooms front door. He was wearing a dark suit, with a white fancy napkin over his arm and he was holding a tray with biscuits on one of his arms. He was also wearing a high top hat. I am quite the sleepwalker/talker and so as I was sleeping, I woke my sister up and said ‘there’s a butler in our room. He has food for us’. My sister didn’t see anyone and just let me sleep on. The next morning she told me about what I said, and I remembered my dream being the exact same scenario as she told me. Now we didn’t really think anything of this as I have strange dreams very often and the place was kinda scary anyways which probably would’ve influenced me. Years later I come across a YouTube video about this hotel and decide to google it being haunted. Then I found myself on this website and saw a comment posted by an old employee who worked here describing the exact same type of person I saw in the room. It freaked me out! No way this can be a coincidence… Also I don’t think I’ve been influenced in any way as I’ve never heard about any butler or ghost figure in this hotel prior to staying the night there.

When my family and I stayed here roughly summer of 2011, one of the employees had confirmed my suspicions of the place being haunted. Certain areas of lobby you could smell perfume. She then took us up to the third floor (at this time they weren’t using the third floor). She opened one room where a double murder had taken place. The closet was still taped up said someone was killed in there and also someone was pushed out the window and killed. I did take pictures in this room, and she mentioned they were going to start renovating and using the third floor soon. I’ve never followed up to see if anything was true, but I do believe what she told me.

I recently worked at the front desk of this hotel and have never heard of anyone having a bad experience with a ghost but what I can tell you is my story. I didn't want to believe it was true until the owners daughter told me her stories then I knew I wasn't going crazy because she had seen the exact same ghost as I did... this ghost was a tall lanky man dressed in a dark suit and top hat, and every time I would try and talk to him he would disappear around a corner. I hadn't told anyone about what kept happening to me because I thought maybe I was just tired... so finally I decided to ask other employees if they have ever had any ghost interactions and that's when I found out that the owners daughter had seen the man in the top as well, and that he would actually go into her room at the exact same time and day of the month for several months. at that point, I told her of my story and she was surprised to hear that the man in the top hat was in the lobby.

When I worked at the Inn in 1996, I would get creepy feelings being alone on the third floor, especially the room directly in front of the service elevator. Being touched, footsteps behind me in the hall, the usual.
Years later working for the county found a death certificate for a gentleman who passed in the forties in that very room that gave me the creeps....

I distinctly heard the children playing and i remember it because I closed the gate to the employee elevator and was reprimanded because "there were no guest in the hotel". I have had the vacuum cord repeatedly unplugged (6x)in a room that i later found out was where frequent encounters happens. I could go on and on about the creepy encounters that I have encounter including having the feeling of always being watched. The entire third floor is deemed to be haunted and although the management/owners have done extensive renovations and upgrades they have not touched the third floor

Me and my fiancee had a much different experience from anybody else's so I figured I would share it. We stayed on a trip in early September of 2016. The experience was quite terrifying, and I'm not sure what to think of it, but be forewarned, it does get graphic. After we checked in we decided to eat at the restaurant inside of the hotel, which was quite neat but also had no other guests during the duration of our meal which was bizarre. When we made our way back through the lobby to our room, and a couple around 8 o'clock at night had all their things and were rushing out of the hotel. That put us in edge. When we made our way back to the room we too heard children playing but it sounded faint as if they were on another floor or in another room, however I didn't think much of that until reading other encounters. My fiancee and I watched TV for a while and had sex, at that point I had a strange feeling somebody was watching us. Later that night while we were asleep, my fiancee woke me up because she had squirted all over, the strange part is I have never made her squirt because the idea made her uncomfortable. As some people may know a lot of what squirt is the first time is pee so I thought she had peed the bed for her first time since she was like 5. She insisted that a ghost had fiddled with her and it was at that point I realized it was her first time squirting. Wether she had a wet dream or not I feel that it is strange that she squirted from it when that takes a certain amount of attention to the G spot, which she couldn't have achieved on her own in her sleep. Has anybody else had any similar strange encounters? I will check back with this page every couple of months to hopefully better understand this encounter.

My family stayed here last night and while we were staying, we saw no children at the hotel yet I was woken up early in the morning (around 6) to children running around in the room next to us playing. I also heard a mother with a distinct accent talking very loud to the children. I didn't think much of it until I realized it was 6 in the morning and it was odd for the family to be so rambunctious. I looked up this blog and thought it was very coincidental.

I'm writing on here, because I wish to know if my findings are accurate at all and need to confirm it, for my future walks(I'm a budding medium and I just want to make sure I'm not crazy)
I did see a boy and a girl on the second floor. They are not aware that they are dead and they were playing with a toy, one on one side of the hallway by the elevators and one on the other. I almost warped into their world and could see the carpet below the little boy, as he had a toy in hand and I felt hot all over like I was trying to fight a fever. I felt him run through me, and then a lady appeared behind me(blonde, about 5'6, late 30's or 35) and told me they had died from a Fever or virus in the room I was standing by Next the elevator. They were blonde as well, and the little girl seemed older and more mature maybe around 7 and the little boy around 3,4.
The lady knew she was dead. The kids just kept playing and playing and playing as if they were fine living that moment over and over and over again.
Okay. Then I went to the top floor and was greeted by a very lavished lady. She too was blonde. She was extremely sanguine and was relieved that someone wanted to know about her. She ran me down the hall to the very second to last room on the left side of the floor. (Forgot the room number, I may go back-she was awesome) I then had the same experiences where I warped into her time. It was pretty much a party-and she was livin the dream. She had friends coming to meet her on the floor below her she said and I really felt like she was getting ready to conduct a party. I almost blanked th first blonde women out but later wondered if it was the same lady, but their countinence was so different but almost similar in appearance.

yes there are definitely little children playing in the hallway, I remember it distinctly because I closed the entrance to the employee service elevator during training to prevent them from wandering into it only to be told that there was no one checked in that day. There has been other creepy unexplainable things that I still have no explanation for that I have experienced personally or have heard from guest, like being shoved. I can't say with 100% certainty that it is haunted but I also can't say that it is not.

over the past weekend (4/30/15-5/2/15) me and my fellow members of the local ghost crew ghot a EVP (electro-magnetic voice phanomenon) on our digital recorder. The voice comes from a woman in her late 30s saying "he took them from me" . What is chilling to this EVP is that non of us new about kids haunting this place. We have no speculations to this but it would be linked to the kids that were heard by others the commented in the cite. I stayed there this past week (10/8/13-10/12/13) on the first floor. After I went to my room for the evening the first night I heard a couple kids running thru the hallway laughing and giggling. All I thought at the time was what are 2 kids doing up so late staying in this hotel in the middle of the week. Come to find out, there were no kids staying in the hotel. And at dinner we asked around about ghost stories and low and behold, they told a story about lots of folks hearing kids running the hallways. I'm sure somewhere there's a story for who they are...
