Selleck, Washington

It wasn't to long ago until i had my first encounter with a spirit. We've always heard stories about this town in the middle of no where.





All you have to do is drive straight the whole way there and then once you reach the destination theres a sign that says "welcome to selleck road ends in 2 miles".




Thats the freaky part, the road just ends. Theres a haunted school right in the middle of the town and rumour has it that at night if you go touch the school you will be cursed for the rest of your life.




Me and my friends thought, why not try it? Worst decision of our lives. Still to this day i sleep with a night light on.

I lived in Selleck in 1970 thru 1972. More of a commune than anything else especially during the winter months. Truman and Betty that had the store were such God sends. They allowed us to charge oil for heat and groceries when needed when short on cash. A few chemicals and lots of pot but we all got along. Miss those times.

I lived in Selleck around 1978-79 and went to that school. I don't recall it being haunted or feeling weird. All I remember is the town froze in the winter and our pipes froze and we had no water. Everyone at the school got lice because we couldn't wash properly. I do recall riding horses though...out to those abandoned decomposing buildings, hospital walls and such, that WAS creepy. We used to go out there to get scared and treck through the woods and pick cherries. Never saw a ghost. We used to sleep in tents in the yard for fun in the summer. Lots of fond memories of this non-scary town.

This town is creepy as heck! I lived there for about a year when I was about 10 or 11. I don't doubt that it's haunted! A lot of the people that lived there were very odd. I never seen a ghost or anything when it just felt creepy if you know what I mean.

Haunted my A$$, I've been around here all my life, no more haunted than any other place. It's just an old town slipping in to the past. I guess if you listen or focus long enough on any old place you might hear a noise or two. It's just history at work. The whole world has been here millions of years, everywhere has history, doesn't mean it's haunted. Sorry to burst your bubble...

By the way, the few older houses by the school in the circle you drive around, that is Selleck. There's only a few houses and the school left besides the old foundations of buildings and such in the woods.

When you get to the schoolhouse you take a left and at the end before you go around the corner to the left are used to be a trail to the right that went to all of that. You have no access to it because of a fence. It is watershed owned and you're not allowed back there. People still go back there though, you can find a way.

When I lived there 30 years ago you were able to get to all of that and see everything.

Very, Very disappointed! Just returned from trying to find Selleck, Wa. I am in Maple Valley, Wa and according to map quest AND these web sites.... It should take aprox 14 min and 8.76 miles to the town. I had my 2 grandsons and daughter with me on the drive.. Found the site of the school house......it was totally surrounded by a high black fence with a lock on it. And TOOO there are people that. Live there plus another house is being built right behind it. NO access for one to explore nor check out!!! Found NO signs nor info of the Power House, incinerator, mill complex foundations or any signs of an ACTUAL town. Supposedly, it contains now the largest concentration of original mill town structures. ALL, I gotta say is........."WHERE"???????????

Many old towns in Washington state have a ghost or two. I really think Selleck, is just another haunted spot. WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? Wahington state has many cearel killers, some caught but I'am sure their will be more. I would rather deal with a ghost then another Green River Killer or Ted Bundie.

This place is very haunted, I spent the night around the holidays. I woke up to the smell of purfume, like someone broke a bottle next to me. The smell was so strong it woke me in the middle of the nite. I was wide awake for about five minutes the smell filled the air. I felt like someone else was in the room. I asked everyone in the house if maybe a bottle might have broke, or someone lit a candle. No one was up in the middle of the nite. Also heard sounds like talking on front porch. Everyone was asleep in the house, this has layers of spirits. I think it's very interesting, I hope to experance more.

That's weird there are rumors about the school. Although I doubt that's true I did always think the place was creepy. When I was 12, my friend actually lived in a trailer in the school yard because her parents rented it or something not sure how they were able to. I spent the night there sometimes didn't see any ghosts and we would play in that yard during the day. So some years later when I was 19 my stoner friends and I would drive there at 3 am (dead hour) just for the thrill. We only got brave enough to get out of the car once. Still no ghosts seen but very eerie feeling everytime!

I lived there when I was a kid and never heard or thought it was haunted. I continued to go there for years after I moved out. My mother in law moved there in 2001 and I never heard anybody saying any thing about it being HAUNTED then either.

The only thing I heard after that was that I had died. People only thought that because I fell down my mother laws stairs and I broke my neck.

Newsflash people...I'm alive. I'm paralyzed, but I am alive.

So, after reading these comments you should be able to sleep a lot easier now.

I too lived in Selleck. It is not haunted. And I've been in the school. When an ex owner of the town lived in it with his son. This is a crock of crap, time to put your big girl panties on, turn off your night light and grow up. Stop trying to get idiots like yourself to drive into Sellek and bother others.

Just read this " story" about sellek. I have to call your bluff. I lived there for two years. I am also a " sensitive". I have been in that school. The only thing in it is the owners, who live in the school house. They have a child that was awakened by people coming to touch her " house". The owners had to put up a fence, and now cameras to see licence plates. So anyone reading this...... don't waste your time. Residents have been hurt by people speeding around the street. Stay home and watch ghost adventures.
