Past Homeowner Makes Visit

I had purchased a single family home built in the 1960s with plans to add an additional bathroom and other minor renovations. After completing the work on the bath to the master bedroom, I began noticing dark shadows in the bedroom in the wee hours of the morning.

One particular morning I got up at my usual time of 5:00 p.m. opened the door to the hall to make my way to the kitchen to make coffee, and just across the small hall I see someone in a white hazy nightgown trying to go into my stepson's bedroom. At first I thought it may have been my stepdaughter who was visiting at the time with her children. I said, "Honey, what are you doing up so early?" There was no response. I was wide awake but without doubt, I saw a woman with her back turned to me trying to get into that room. I shrugged it off and continued onto the kitchen. I had to pass through the living room, and as I passed, I noticed my stepdaughter sleeping soundly on the big sofa in the living room. No one else was up. I looked back down the hall and the figure was gone. I knew I had just seen a spirit.

Later speaking with a neighbor, I learned that there was an elderly couple that owned the house. The old man was very stingy, and would look his wife in that room, so that she would not take off down the street. She had altzheimers. I also remember when I bought the house initially, that there was a metal hook on the outside of the bedroom, which pretty much explained the altzheimers problem.

I am sure after remodeling, Louise (her real name) came back to claim her room.
