Old biloxi regional hospital

by joanne
(mississippi)

My dad is an officer and people heard screaming in the hospital and was called out there to check it out. My father could here the beds rattling and a little girl crying. My dad kept saying "where are you baby? We're here to help" then he heard a scream, after that never heard her. Him and his men searched the entire building and surrounding grounds. No one was there or had been there for years. After my dad told me that I had to check it out. Me and my friends heard babies crying and beds slamming around. We could hear people talking, but couldn't make out the words. It was really creepy. We looked all around on the floor we were on and no one was there. It was so loud it was like they were in your ear talking to you. We finally got so scared and we left.

The Little Girls NEW
by: Anonymous

Not my story... my mom's story (she worked at the old Biloxi Hospital off Back Bay)... She explained there were two little children... I think both girls (don't know the year) that were playing hide and seek in their neighborhood. I don't know if it was at/around the hospital or they were brought to the hospital. There was a refrigerator that locked from the outside (most did many years ago). They decided to hide in the refrigerator and due to not being able to free themselves they died. Somehow their deaths were tied to the hospital. After this incident the hospital started to experience a new type of haunt and the people who worked there were confident it was the children. Right before a person would pass the elevator would open on its own on the floor the person was on but no one would be in it. And the person who passed, before passing (if they were able to talk) would mention children in their presence. But, the workers never saw children- only the patients. And, then they would pass. Some workers said they heard giggles. Or the sound of a ball bouncing. The patients would mention a ball sometimes. My mom remembers sitting at the nurses station and the elevator opened across from the station with no one. She remembers getting shivers. Shortly after she checked on a patient who complained about the kids being too loud playing in his room but only he could see and hear. That night he passed.

Live Birth Record
by: Justin Heath Parker

Currently in a litigation from taking a fall at Lowe's and had few things that were interfering with some authority of personal jurisdictions, which lead me to investigating the matters. Come to find out I was born in 1986 at the Howard Memorial and that same year long form was introduced for creating Birth Certificates, before that in 1953 the short form was created for a live birth record. I think when places like that were placed on lay lines.

It still has a heavy atmosphere
by: Dave

Like a lot of kids, I explored it in the early 90's. First time it was me and a friend. We went thru the entire hospital and only saw one wheelchair. It sat in the middle of a room like someone was watching us. We went and got some friends and went back. Before we were arrested for trespassing, we found that wheelchair on a different floor but sitting the same way. Later that night the cops let 2 of us go back for our things we dropped. We went to different floors, and I found everything piled up in front of a nurse's station. Also found the wheelchair again. Different floor yet again.

There was something off about that place. I later met a nurse who'd worked there and heard her stories.

I'd love to hear what's happening now!

SCARY HOSPITAL NEW
by: Anonymous

When I began working for AMSERV (Harrison-Jackson County EMS) during the mid 70s we used the Emergency Room area of the Old Biloxi Hospital on the beach drive as our base of operations. We all knew the place was haunted, senior EMTs would tell us tales of screams and apparitions that they experienced when they traveled into the rest of the old Hospital Building.

Early 90s exploring NEW
by: Chris

I have a few stories from here. But my big one goes like this. Me and a few of my friends would go now and then late at night. This time using the few lights left on and 2 zippos. After a while of exploring and our zippo fluid we started back downstairs. The stairwell was pitch black. Four of my friends went in front of me and I was in back.On my way down, I held the rail down. On the mid deck, in the corner, I saw the shape of a person, darker than the dark. I felt like it turned as I passed, (watching me). I thought maybe a friend pranking, but no. I was still in back of the line. Nobody else saw anything.

The Scary Howard Memorial Hospital Biloxi NEW
by: 1976 & Still Scared

The Scary Howard Memorial Hospital, yes how well do I remember being only 17 yr old, working as tray maid hearing horror stories about giggle Little girls playing in the elevator that what they heard by one of the Doctors, and me being scary I wanted no parts of taking anything to the floor.
One day of course it happen and I had cart duty going alone doing fine, gather all carts down to my last cart got in elevator go up to six floor to my surprise what happen, elevator made a little noise ok! exceptible but to my surprise my little noisy friends that I had heard about was on board, now I was about to have a fit mind you, other people were on who wouldn't believe if I told them so I held my peace got off at the next floor didn't get back on.
Later in 1992 or 1993 before they made what it is today it was found to be that it was Spirit in that building.
Thank you

No kidding! NEW
by: Anonymous

Is the building still there? That place was haunted big time! I'm not kidding. I was an EMT with Amserv ambulance back when it closed, and our station was being remodeled and we stayed in the former emergency room as our quarters. Man that place creeped me out, totally empty, but voices, footsteps, slamming doors, I could barely sleep.
