There is a legend in the small town of Lake Wales Florida that in tells a story about an Indian Chief and a monstrous alligator fighting over territory. Story goes that in the small depression at the bottom of Spook Hill, there lie the resting place of the alligator that was killed by the Indian Chief. Rumors say that if you place your car at the bottom of Spook Hill, The Indian Chief will pull your car uphill as to keep you from entering his sacred grounds.... As far as the alligator, if you listen really close you can hear the grunts and growls of the gator also protecting his swampy depression....
