(Hesperia, ca.)

There is an old victorian mansion there that was moved from a burial ground either from redlands or riverside. it sits all by itself, you can see it from the fwy. All through high school I had heard stories about it being haunted and how the upstairs bedroom light was always on and how many times it was up for sale. Everyone that lived there moved out. And that they were trying to film a movie there but too many accidents were occuring. Well I never was able to go there to check it out until the summer of 1997. I was 37 and had my 7 year old twin girls with me at the time. I had to exchange cars with my boyfriend who worked in Ontario, and we lived up in Hesperia. So on the way home I looked over and saw the mansion, and at the time had heard it was up for sale for a half million. So I didn't have anything to do that day and it was a really nice day, so I got off on sierra and drove by it at first. There was a white car parked in front, looked like a possible realators car, so I turned around and went back. The gates were locked and it was all fenced in, but there was a couple walking around the grounds. So as I was calling them over to ask how they got in, my girls had slipped through the gates. So I immediatley hopped the fence, it was only a 4ft fence. The couple that was there had pushed down a part of the fence on the other side of the property. When I first drove by the property I saw that an officer had someone pulled over just a half block down the street. I'll explain this in a minute. Ok so here we are on the grounds of this old victorian mansion. myself, the girls and this couple. We looked around, all was good until this womans boyfriend decides to open the celler door which set off the alarm, that was extremely loud, and all I could think about was that officer a half block away, and how embarrassed I'd be getting caught on private property with my girls. So right away the couple jumped over where it was pushed down, the girls

went right out the gate, and stupid me decides to become some super athlete and hurdle over the fence. I had one big problem though. I had a hole in my levis that got caught on the fence. So there I was dangling, with the girls staring at me. I then paniced, and just ripped myself from the fence thinking that it wasnt very far to fall, seeing as I was hanging half way down it anyways. As soon as I unlatched myself I felt someone

from behind lift me high into the air, then throw me to the ground with such force, on to a rock, that when I went to get up I couldn't, my leg was completely turned backwards with my toes pointed up. Being in shock and the girls crying and I can't get up I took my leg and twisted it back around, then screamed for help from that couple. luckely they were from hesperia also, and the boyfriend was able to take my kids to my moms, while she drove me to the hospital. Just before I went under anestesia, I looked to the window and there stood this giant angry man staring at me. I didn't say anything of course. But after surgury, and after the anestesia wore off the doctor comes in to talk to me, and says "so tell me more about this mansion story, you were talking about while you were under, because I've been practicing for 20 yrs and I've never seen a mess like this, so don't try and tell me you just fell from a 4 ft. fence. So I did tell him what I had felt, and whether it was real or not who knows, but I have 12 long screws that are bolted to two long plates, and had over 100 staples put in my leg to hold it together. I was in a no pressure cast up to my hip for a yr. Then in a cast from below my knee to the top of my leg for another yr. and had to have neck surgury and carpol tunnel surgury on both wrists do to the impact of the fall which put me on S.S.I. for the rest of my life. To this day I get chills, and feel sick every time I pass by there. I'm 51 now.

Things I know for sure about the mansion NEW
by: Renne

#1 I'm sure you all know the history by now by watching the videos.
#2 when I was in high school in the 70s I heard all kinds of stories, like movies they filmed there and bad things happened, I heard that the upstairs bedroom light was always on never was it out. After my accident I went back to the house and there was a mother and a teenage boy out front with a moving truck, so I pulled in and the boy was sitting in the car, I said so you guys are moving, he said ya we're out of here, I said the reason I pulled in is because I wanted to ask if there were any ghost here that you know of, he'd said he'll yes that's why we're moving, there's been so many things that are unexplainable like the piece of tile that fell out of the shower wall and no matter what you tried to glue it back with it still fell out, and the loud footsteps that went across my ceiling freaked me out, so they moved, and that's when it was vaccant, and up for sale, trust me all I wanted to do is check it out after hearing so many stories,

It's now 2024, how fast the yrs fly by, the reason I came back to this page is because of a man on Facebook that showed a picture of the mansion and said he has to drive by the ghost house everytime he drives up to the high desert. I'm trying to find out from him what he knows about it. As soon as I find out I'll fill you in. I'm still able to walk but not very good.

Its 2020 now and Im 61 now NEW
by: Hello this is Renne ,the original writer of this story

First Id like to say, that Im still scared to death of that mansion, and stupid me after it was all re- done and yars after I had talked to the lady that lives there now, I decided to take my grand children down there to show them the house ,that disabled there gramma for life. Ok so we get tv here and the gates were shut ,but you could still pull in the driveway, and it was all flat ground, with this gargoyle statue to the right of the drive way, witch reminded me of the huge man that had picked me up and threw me down. I felt sick, so I hurried up and took a few pictures, well all got back in the car ,and I proceeded to back up and turn around, knowing that there was nothing behind us, all of a sudden theres this loud crunching noise, that scared us hslf to death, as if Id run into a bolder or something, it sounded like th whole side of my car was crunched in.I was so scared ,I just accelerated forward, and got the hell out of there. When I got home ,and looked at the car there was nothing there, not a scratch ,t GB ats when I decided to never go back there again, even though the lady told me that she had a priest remove him from the house, he just moved into that gargoyle sitting at the front of the driveway, Iv got pictures of it, and its scary shit.

Yes!

Was it always white?? I grew up right off of north riverside on Candlewood and I remember a spooky house on Sierra that you could see from the highway. It stood alone and was really haunted looking, but I feel like i remember it being gray or dark purple or something! Is that another house on that street that stands alone? Does anyone know? I love reading these comments though, I often still think about the house I'm talking about, grew up near it in the eighties and early nineties and hardly ever saw anyone come in or out of it, the occasional random car would be outside but that's it! Never looked like anyone was there but yes, always gave me weird feelings when we drove by! That area in general has always felt weird to me! I can't believe the development of all the houses now! When I was little, our house was one of the first to go up and everything else was just huge fields and rocks everywhere!

Renne could you give another undate? NEW
by: Anonymous

I was born in and currently live in Fontana 5 minutes away from this location. As a teen (16), I've always seen that house when visiting Victorville. But now in modern Fontana it seems the rumors have died down and anyone barely talks about it unless I bring it up. I personally have not met the owner, just seen it passing by in a car. Renne, if you are seeing this, could you give an update if you can? I'd like to see if anything else happened.

This house always had my attention as a kid in 1989. Before the 210 was constructed you had to use the 15 freeway to get through Fontana. We would pass this house that did not look like part of the environment. It just seemed to grasp your attention. I wonder if we can go here?

house is full NEW
by: Carlos

I frequently pass by this house now and every time I drive by I see at least 10 cars parked in the driveway. I'm kind of bummed with all the new housing creeping up in area. I'm sure the city is eventually going to have to make the road wider with a lighted intersection. eventually it's magic will get lost in all of it. It reminds me of an old Spanish style mansion that was forever by itself on Foothill and Vineyard in Rancho Cucamonga, that's now been turned into a nail salon and wedged between a gas station and a kfc :(

Personal experience NEW
by: Anonymous

From what I know and personally experienced myself... This house was originally moved from Oregon to Redlands then permanently moved to Fontana. I went on "ghost hunting" with a few friends and captured very creepy pics. Unfortunately those pics were lost over the years but what we captured was a creepy clown-like ghost with hallowed eyes mocking us under construction lights. Apparently(according to the current owners at that time) they had to light up the entire property at night because of the abundance of paranormal activity during that reconstruction time. Take what you will from my personal experience but having seen and documented this personally....I truly believe something is definitely paranormal there. Sorry I can't provide actual proof but my memories are enough for me.

House used in music video. NEW
by: Paul Camarillo

Just FYI, this house was used in the music video, "Burning House of Love" by the 80's group "X". The members shot it on location back in 1985 and is even described in the lyrics of being seen from the freeway. Possibly chosen site after seeing it US Festival in 5/1983. If you doubt this, just pull up a current picture of the Victorian home via Google maps, street level, and a still at the beginning of the video and you will be convinced that this is the house. Like I said, just FYI.

First of all it's kinda spooky that here it is close to Halloween 2014 and this is the first time I'v gone back to this page since I told my story. I am so thrilled to see so many comments, and I as well will add mine. I have actually gone back to that mansion now that it's been re-done and landscaped it actually looks good ,and I didn't feel sick when I pulled in the driveway. There was a woman working in the garden so I approached her, told her who I was and my story. Her response to me was that yes it was very true that her mansion was haunted, that her own grandson wouldn't even come to see her because of all the weird things he experienced. She told me that she had to call in a priest to bless the home and cast out all evil. So for those who didn't believe me. HaHa to you. There's the facts right strait from the owners mouth. She lives there alone and loves to garden at night. Talk to her yourself, I'm not a bullshitter, what I told you was from my heart and was the scariest thing I'v ever encountered so for someone to make fun of it or try to give different facts about what I experienced, actually pisses me off. But you believe what you want to believe, that's your right. Thanks to those who believe in my story, because I really don't think I would lie about something that ruined my life. Now both of my hips have to be replaced because of that fall.

I think if the owners who have lived there for 7+ years have had no paranormal experiences it is prob not haunted. I think it is a beautiful house and just cuz it is old people get creeped out. and BTW The new (2005) Amityville Horror movie was not filmed at this location or anywhere near it.

Fascination/obsession NEW
by: Anonymous

I lived in Fontana when I was a child, until I was about 13. We then moved to Victorville area. I have always been fascinated/obsessed with this house! When I was a kid I heard rumors that the house was an old meeting place for the KKK. I have not been able to find any info about that, so probably just a story. I did however stop there once with my cousin when we were probably about 20...we were passing by and of course I wanted to stop since like I said before I was obsessed with this magnificent beautiful house! I always got an eerie feeling about the house..anyways...we stopped, parked the car..walked to the gate heard an extremely loud voice say "STAY AWAY" we screamed, ran to the car, we were both POSITIVE we saw a person standing in a window upstairs...but when we got in the car and tried to "pick out" the window it came from and we saw somebody in...the window was boarded up! It scared us, we never stopped again...but it has not helped my fascination/obsession! I now live in Utah and once a year I pass by and I have an overwhelming urge to go inside that house! Someday I hope to have the opportunity to go inside :) When I was a kid I wanted to live there even though it was scary.

Ive lived in fontana since age five (1996) and me and my family used to pass by this house when we visited family up in victorville. Every time we passed it up until age 24 my current age i just imagine what it looks like it inside how fascinating it is to me since i was little. I ended up moving to victorville but recently got a job where i have to pass down sierra almost everyday. Still till this day i am amazed by it. I just want to go inside it so bad! It may not be haunted but i always feel this butterfly sensation whenever i pass it lol. Sometimes i say hi like if someone watches me pass by everytime. I almost feel like the house does watch me though and i love it. If your the real owners i would love a tour =) please or even just an opp to take some pictures of the outside

Actual history NEW
by: James Seever

Source: 'the Sun' February 15, 1982 "old House has New Home" by Chuck Palmer
D.M Donald built the home in 1888 in Redlands for Judge George E. Otis.
The 111 year old home was moved, in 3 pieces, to it's current location in 1979. Dr. Walter and Mrs. Green had planned a 200 home development around the home, had planned to live on the second floor, and had planned to rent the lower floor out for parties banquets, etc.
Obviously the Greens' plan to cost out well.
My father, Fred Seever, was the main carpenter on site, and he put a lot of effort into rebuilding the home and placing trim matching the original redwood interior. I admire the home and it's history, but I really have questions about it's unfortunate location.

Irregardless of wheather this house is actually haunted or not I do believe that with it's age you have to imagine that it has quite a history and that is what makes it so amazing to look at. Know matter how many times we drove passed that house the fascination of not knowing and wondering always captured me*

My parents own the house they have owned it for over 7 years. You people seem to know more information about the property than I do. I don't know where it was moved from I heard from all different places beaumont, Redlands etc. The property was moved here in the 70's I believe we have an old
Photograph of an individual putting the house back together. I can tell u the house use to be bigger and have more bedrooms
Don't know how many it had previously. About the prior owners I've never met them only the agent who sold the house. I heard the previous owner's occupation was a doctor by the name of "green" and had other acreage of land for sale around the property and lives out of state. As for the house being haunted I never seen a ghost of any kind not to say that I never will or that there isn't any here. I hope I don't see any ghost because I don't know what I'll do. I'll probably ask them what do u want and to get the fuck out of here & go to the cemetery or the mausoleum where the big boys play. You know what I mean

The house was moved from another area, I forget where. At the time it was owned by some organization, who paid for the restoration. If you can find references to a "Lou Press" from San Bernardino, he had a hand in the rebuild. At one time, there was a plaque on-site, and a newspaper had written an article about it. The house only had the first story when it was relocated. The rest of the house is of new construction. My dad was a wonderful carpenter and did the bulk of the rebuilding and finish work. I was on site one day, before the second story was rebuilt, and saw a family of barn owls that had moved into a corner. There is nothing haunted about it.

I live just 5 minutes from this mansion and I would like to tell you what this house looks like now and if there are people living in it. The house is 2 different blues and there is a huge gate out front which I assume is the same one you fell from. the now owners added something else to the house like a large shed and as you said before yes the upstairs light is always on. I'm a clairvoyant and everytime we pass this house I feel uneasy and nauseous. 1 day very soon I plan to stop at this house and ask for any history or if I can take a tour. thank you for sharing your story with this sight I hope you're doing well and I hope you enjoyed my story.
